The point is very good. I think we stop what we are doing sometimes because we fail. But to fail is not to fail, right? Failure truly is failure in a sense that you didn’t accomplish what it was you were working on at the time. You cannot escape that. But, we must also learn that when we fail we are able to look at it as a temporary set back, only, not the end of the world.
I think many people fail and see they couldn’t do something…which happens a lot. So, they give up and live with disappointment. We don’t have to give up at that point. If we have any tenacity whatsoever, we can try it again. That is if we are able. I think if you go to jump across two very high mountain peaks and you fail. You are probably not able to attempt the jump again, from being in the hospital or the morgue.
But if we just stumble, we all have the ability to get up and try walking again. That is the American way! Keep trying. At least until death. Then failure does not dominate our lives.
Hi Rick.
I love how you say that failure is like “a temporary setback.” I agree. As you also said, we have to have tenacity and keep trying. Giving up is just an easy way out.
